Where do our fish come from?
We are so fortunate to be partnered with April’s Aquariums in Vancouver.
There are honestly so many things we love about April’s — but the biggest one? Their ethics. Their standards go far beyond what you see from most companies in the industry. The way they treat their fish, the way they respect the hobby, and the way they support the people who love it — it’s all next-level. They even have a fish biologist on staff who checks on every batch of fish before it’s ever shipped to us.
If there’s any doubt that a fish won’t make it safely to our store, they simply won’t ship it.
That kind of integrity is rare, and it’s exactly why we’re proud to stand with them. Our values align completely — and that’s important to us.
We are exclusive to April’s.
All of the fish you see at From Scales to Tails come directly from them. And if there’s something we don’t have in stock that you’ve seen on April’s website, we’re happy to place a special order for you and bring it in with our next shipment.

Aquascaping
All of our beautiful aquascaped tanks here in the store are the work of one incredible man — Russ Fletcher, the owner and operator of Enchanted Waters Aquascaping.
Russ truly has the patience of a saint (and I know you’ve probably heard me say that before!). His vision, expertise, and the way he just sees things — it’s amazing. He has an eye for creating living art!
If you’ve admired any of the aquascapes in our store, you’ve already seen his magic at work.
